Introduction

IKUB Construction Limited (IKUB) is 100 percent-owned and operated by American investors and registered in Afghanistan since July 2004, as a road and civil construction company under the Private Investment License No. I-10154 issued by Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA). IKUB Construction is wholly owned by Dr. Pirouz Hamidian-Rad, a former senior staff of the World Bank, and is a partner company of IKUB Consulting Limited, a US-registered financial and economic advisory firm, based in Virginia, USA since 1998, and with registered offices in Afghanistan, Australia and Papua New Guinea. IKUB Consulting has been operating in Afghanistan since August 2002 and is currently implementing several projects funded by donors including the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. Afghan Pooshesh ICT Ltd is also a subsidiary company of IKUB Group of companies and has been a strong player in the telecom and IT sectors of Afghanistan.

With an initial capital of US$1.36 million, IKUB Construction’s headquarters and complete warehouse and production facilities are located in Kabul. IKUB has a large permanent team of experienced engineers and technicians to design, commission, execute and deliver small to large road and building construction projects on time and within the budget. The company also has a large number of construction machinery and office equipment as well as trained support teams to complement its professional teams to deliver services at international standards.

IKUB has implemented a number of projects since its inception in 2004 and based on its quality of service and project management skills and capabilities has been awarded a USD12 million design and build construction project to design, construct and commission a 12 story shopping mall and hotel complex in the heart of Kabul Business District. IKUB has also prepared, as sub contractor, several US-military funded projects in Afghanistan.
